Zelda II: The Adventure of Link Video Walkthrough

02:11:21
This is a video walkthrough / playthrough / runthrough / etc of the NES game Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. I think I find all the hidden dolls and p-bags. I'm pretty sure I got all the dolls, though I suppose there is a chance I missed one or two bags....Other than that, I think I did a good job. This was a game I owned way back in the day. I remember when I finally was able to beat it, how much fun I had going through it all over again with the upgraded stats, killing the bosses in one hit...Muhahahahaha.....Was quite fun... :P

Zelda II: The Adventure of Link - NES - Angry Video Game Nerd - Episode 93

It isn't a bad game is it? Many fans were split by the decision of taking a beloved overhead adventure game and making it a side scroller. In this episode the Nerd picks up his sword and shield to go on an adventure into Hyrule. We'll see the Nerd give his honest opinion on Zelda 2 as he fights to the end, but can he beat it? Watch him rage as he dukes it out with Moblins, collects bags of Pee, travel treacherous terrain and after all that get some "hot coffee" from grateful townsfolk. Originally released in Japan in 1987 on the Family Computer Disk System and 1988 on the Nintendo Entertainment System in both America and Europe, Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link was the first and only official side scrolling Zelda game in the series. Going on to become known as one of the worst, if not the worst Zelda games amongst fans due to its radical change and difficulty from the previous Zelda game. Series creator Shigeru Miyamoto said in an interview that whilst he didn't think Zelda 2 was a "bad game", he thought that they (Nintendo) could have made it a better experience but were held back by hardware limitations. To this day the Zelda franchise has experimented with different ideas over the years, with Zelda 2 being one of the more drastic but necessary steps into making one of the most beloved franchises of all time. Zelda II: The Adventure of Link - SPEED RUN in 1:15:22 (100%) by Solairflaire - SDA (2012)

This can include glitches, abusing in-game mechanics and skipping items or even playing events out of sequence. Released in December 1988, The Adventure of Link follows Link on a side-scrolling quest through Hyrule to place six crystals back in their palaces, and eventually wake the sleeping princess Zelda. Highly criticized as being too different from the first Zelda, The Adventure of Link introduced some elements that would be seen in many later Zelda games such as towns and magic, but other things never seen again such as experience points and 1 ups.Source: SDA game page. \ Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, released as The Legend of Zelda 2: Link no Bōken (THE LEGEND OF ZELDA 2 リンクの冒険?) in Japan, is an action role-playing video game with platforming elements. The second installment in The Legend of Zelda series, it was developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Entertainment System. The game was originally released in Japan on the Family Computer Disk System less than a year after the release of the original The Legend of Zelda. Nintendo released Zelda II in Japan on January 14, 1987, seven months before the United States saw the release of the first Zelda title. Nintendo released Zelda II in North America in 1988, almost two years after its initial release in Japan, converting the game from its initial Disk System format to the NES cartridge. The Adventure of Link is a direct sequel to the original The Legend of Zelda, again involving the protagonist, Link, on a quest to save Princess Zelda, who has fallen under a sleeping spell. The Adventure of Link's emphasis on side-scrolling and role-playing-style elements, however, was a significant departure from its predecessor. The game was highly successful at the time and introduced elements that would become commonplace in future Zelda games, although the role-playing elements such as experience points were never used again. It was followed in 1992 by The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for the Super NES. The game is also looked upon as one of the most difficult games in the Zelda series. Source: Wikipedia.org

Zelda 2 - The Adventure Of Link - Nes - Full Playthrough - No Death ♛

01:46:48
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Player:Heroes Of Xanadu - I just love this game so much... The game over screen of Ganon still haunt me to this day. Back when i was a kid Zelda 2 had the most intimidating soundtrack of all the game i played in the 80s. Zelda 2 had some great combat system for a game released January 14, 1987 in north america. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Watch Heroes of Xanadu explore and conquer the fantastic world of this awesome adventure! The first part of the run was hard,surviving on life level 2 for a long time, especially 11:49 death mountain without any candle but i usually play better and upgrade my gaming when the difficulty goes insane and that exactly what happen in the death mountain caves and later on,the same thing happen with death valley without 1:32:39 any candle or cross as you will see later in this video.I show a strategy that can be use to handle the first Fokka 1:37:57 "blue Bird Knights"in the great palace.Overall,Fokkas are widely considered to be the most difficult regular enemies in the game.They are also immune to the Spell Spell. Consequently, it is safest for Link to flee from them.The Degu Bubble yes the big one! 1:38:27 and also ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ the Bot Master 1:40:15 are uncommon and cute but they also do a tremendous ammount of damage to link.Sloth handle them without any trouble.I got all the link 1-up doll except the one close by the haunted graveyard.Water palace 1:06:01 is big and my least favorite palace of the bunch.Watch me jump on the kid head and stab him with my sword at 50:22.I use the fairy many time in this run to help me go through keyhole and save some time.Look like a football match at 1:32:48.Drop for killing six big or small foes - exp point or magic.Western continent end at 49:11 - Eastern continent start at 49:17. Often considered the Zelda series black sheep, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link gets a lot of undeserved hate. Many players complain that the game is too difficult, too large, or that it strayed much too far from the original zelda ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ game’s design. Despite these issues, Zelda II’s legacy is filled with many overlooked features that should redeem its status among even its staunchest haters.If there’s one thing the original Legend of Zelda was lacking, it’s definitely non-player characters. Sure, you have Link, Zelda, and Ganon (Gannon), but outside of the occasional old man in a cave, there’s not much else. Zelda II rectifies this problem by giving players numerous populated towns that house items, spells, side quests, health-refilling hotel visits, and more. These towns, named Rauru, Ruto, Saria, Nabooru, Mido, and Darunia (cleverly recycled as the names of Ocarina of Time’s sages 10 years later), frequently tasked the player with exploring the town to acquire a new power before heading off to the next dungeon. This may be commonplace in the ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Zelda series today, but it’s worthwhile to look at the larger picture and appreciate what a big step this was for the series overall. Of all the changes Zelda II made to the original’s gameplay and design, the most controversial is shifting the primary action to a 2D plane. While the original Legend of Zelda featured brief side-view sections in its dungeons, mostly when picking up a new item, Zelda II shifts all of its awesome non-overworld action to the 2D side-scrolling plane. This meant every town, dungeon, and enemy encounter was played out in this new fashion.Link can attack forwards and backwards, as well as above and below him. Compared to the original Legend of Zelda, and even A Link to the Past, the player only needs to consider the overhead angle of attack, Zelda II makes the player focus on vertical space. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Johnny vs. Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
15:45
I've dreaded this day for sometime now. I'm well familiar with this game, but it wasn't until this review where I attempted to fully complete it. It's time to review the direct sequel to the first Legend of Zelda title, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. Is it really as hard as people say it is? Does it deserve it's status as the black sheep in the franchise? Only one way to find out, so let's watch and see.
Zelda II - The Adventure of Link - HD Full Playthrough no Commentary
02:40:50
Zelda II likely needs an introduction as much as any other Zelda game, not very much at all. This game is notorious for it's difficulty, and boy does it deliver! While most of the game's difficulty stems from it's battling and platforming, it can also be exceedingly difficult to tell what you are suppose to be doing in places as well, and the cryptic, short, mostly useless responses from townsfolk don't help much most of the time. All that being said, it does feel like an accomplishment beating this game, though I couldn't imagine doing it on a real NES! Without savestates and doing difficult parts over and over I may have quit before I finished.
Over the next month I'll be reviewing The Legend of Zelda, Zelda II: Link's Adventure, A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword, and ultimately The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. We'll take a look at the graphics, sound design, gameplay, story, and entertaiment value of each game, assess how the series evolved over time and determine how well the older games stand up in the modern era. In a lot of ways, Zelda isn't terribly different from Souls so I thought this series would be a nice way to kick off something new with you all. Let's Play Zelda II The Adventure of Link Part 1: Spiel des Teufels
25:25
Let's Play Zelda II The Adventure of Link [German/Blind/Verzweifelt/100%] Part 1: Spiel des Teufels Zelda II The Adventure of Link ist das 2. Spiel der The Legend of Zelda Reihe und erschien 1988 in Europa für das NES. Es verkaufte sich rund 4,4 Millionen mal, doch die Käufer wussten wohl nicht, welch teuflisches Spiel sie sich ins Haus geholt hatten... Zelda wurde ein Erfolg und Mastermind Shigeru Miyamoto wollte die Serie daher natürlich fortsetzen. Innovation sollte im Vordergrund stehen und so entstand ein Spiel mit Jump 'n' Run, RPG und Action-Adventure Elementen. An sich ganz toll doch der Schwierigkeitsgrad, welcher in Zelda 1 bereits hoch angesetzt war, stieg nun ins unermessliche. Die Secrets der Overworld findet kein Schwein blind raus, die Tempel sind zwar recht linear, jedoch gefüllt von overpowerten Gegnern und von den Endbossen will ich gar nicht erst sprechen. Doch Ich stelle mich der Herausforderung! Schließlich will ich jedes Zelda mal durchspielen. Auch wenn ich es hiermit schnell bereuen sollte....Seit dabei wie ich mich verzweifelt durch dieses Spiel kämpfe, immer und immer wieder sterbe, Hoffnung bekomme und dann doch nur wieder ein Tritt in die Eier erfolgt und natürlich wie ich mich gegen einen der schwersten Endbosse der Videospielgeschichte schlage. Story (Wikipedia-Auszug): Die Ereignisse von The Legend of Zelda liegen lange zurück. Nachdem Link den König der Bösewichte, Ganon, besiegt hatte, kehrte wieder Ruhe und Frieden im Königreich Hyrule ein. Der inzwischen fast 16-jährige Link bemerkt eines Tages auf der Außenfläche seiner linken Hand ein merkwürdiges Zeichen, welches genau so aussieht wie das Wappen von Hyrule. Besorgt wendet er sich an Impa, das Kindermädchen von Prinzession Zelda. Sie nimmt ihn daraufhin mit zum Nordschloss, in der eine Tür seit langer Zeit magisch versiegelt ist. Impa drückt Links linke Hand gegen die Tür und diese öffnet sich. In der Mitte des Raumes liegt eine schlafende Frau. Impa erzählt Link, dass es sich hierbei um Prinzessin Zelda handelt. Nachdem Zeldas Vater, der König von Hyrule, verstorben war, versuchte Zeldas Bruder, der Prinz von Hyrule, sie zu zwingen, dass sie ihm das Versteck des letzten der drei magischen goldenen Dreiecke verrate. Das Geheimnis des Aufenthaltsorts kannte nach dem Tod des Vaters nur noch sie. Es handelte sich um das sogenannte „Triforce des Mutes"", das seinem Besitzer große Macht verleiht. Zelda weigerte sich jedoch, das Versteck zu verraten. Daraufhin legte ein mit dem Prinzen befreundeter Zauberer wutentbrannt einen mächtigen Zauber auf die Prinzessin, sodass sie in einen „ewigen"" Schlaf fiel. Allerdings starb der Zauberer an den Folgen seines Zaubers. Dem Prinzen war es nicht möglich, den Zauber aufzuheben, und so verbrachte er Zelda in das Nordschloss, in der Hoffnung, dass sie irgendwann wieder aufwachen werde. Impa erzählt Link, das Zeichen auf seiner linken Hand bedeute, dass er auserkoren sei, Zelda wiederzuerwecken. Sie überreicht ihm daraufhin eine kleine Kiste, in der sich sechs Kristalle und eine uralte Schriftrolle befinden, die nur der zukünftige König von Hyrule lesen kann. Link kann sie lesen und erfährt aus ihr, dass jeder Kristall in einem anderen Palast in Hyrule platziert werden muss. Dies öffnet den Weg zum Großen Palast, in welchem sich das letzte der drei goldenen Dreiecke, das Triforce des Mutes befindet. Dieses mächtige Artefakt hat in Kombination mit den anderen beiden magischen Dreiecken die Kraft, die verzauberte Zelda aus ihrem magischen Schlaf zu erwecken. Link nimmt die Kristalle an sich und macht sich auf den Weg, sie wieder in die Paläste einzusetzen. In der Zwischenzeit beginnen die Anhänger Ganons allerdings mit der Suche nach Link, um ihn zu töten. Ihr Ziel ist die Rückkehr ihres Königs Ganon. Dies kann nur geschehen, wenn Link stirbt und sein Blut über die Asche von Ganon vergossen wird. Im ersten Part starten wir gleich voll durch. Ich erzähle euch die (lame) Story des Spiels, führe euch ins Kampfsystem ein und besuche die erste Stadt Rauru. Dort lehrt uns ein jointrauchender Zauberer den ersten Zauberspruch ""Schild"". Dieser wird uns verstärkt vor gegnerischen Angriffen Schützen. Perfekt für den 1. Dungeon oder? Und genau da wollen wir jetzt hin! Wir streifen durch den Wald und passieren die Höhle. Hinten am Strand befindet sich das Verließ auch schon. Wie böse das Spiel wird, kommt hier langsam zum Vorschein...aber immerhin schaffen wir es noch zum ersten Dungeonitem: Die Kerze. [TAS] NES Zelda II: The Adventure of Link by Arc & Inzult in 38:38.45
41:10
This is a tool-assisted speedrun. For more information, see http://tasvideos.org/3256M.html. TAS originally published on 2016-11-10. Zelda II: The Adventure of Link is quite different from most of the early games in the Legend of Zelda series. It combines an overworld view with side-scrolling platform stages. In addition, the character can gain experience and levels, visit towns, and earn spells and items which are needed to proceed. This movie is a new branch that allows warps but not the scroll-lock glitch, used in the other run we have published (http://tasvideos.org/2652M.html). A "warp" (or "wrong warp") in Zelda II is when an exit takes Link somewhere other than where that exit is supposed exit into. Read the authors' comments (http://tasvideos.org/5264S.html) for details. For a "warpless" run, see [3254] NES Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (USA) "warpless" by Arc, FatRatKnight, Inzult, & Rising Tempest in 45:26.04 (http://tasvideos.org/3254M.html). This movie was a part of a two-hour Zelda II TAS showcase (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rebfiXzCrY0) with audio commentary by Arc, Inzult, Jackimus, Mithical9, and Feasel.
ZELDA II: THE ADVENTURE OF LINK - RETRO REVIEW
12:52
Hey everyone for my second attempt at a retro review I take on one of my personal favorite Zelda titles in Zelda 2 Adventure of Link. This game is notorious for being difficult and vastly different from the first Zelda. However the real question is all these years later is it still worth playing? My reviews are 100% unbiased and I will never do one unless I am confident enough to do so. I use a scale of 1 - 10 with 5 being a average game. Many professional reviewers use 7 as a average game which I find is more of a trick to convince you the consumer that a game is better then it really is. Zelda II 100 % Deathless Speed Run 1:11:38 Arctic
01:14:25
Speed run of Zelda II on NES by Arctic Eagle 20.03.2013. This is the 100 % sda rules variation. I timed it at 1:11:38. Some new levelling tactics (for any % and 100 %) that gives me a 50/50 magic-jar drop in the 4th palace to level attack after placing the crystal. If you get a point-bag drop there instead, it's slightly disadvantageous to the "mainstream" route. I really crave attack 8 for the later sections of the game and have been twisting my brain to come up with a competitive alternative, (that gives a good chance of levelling attack to 8), to the "mainstream" route. Attack 6, or even 7, feels really awkward to me in the later sections of the game.
Parapa Palace | Zelda II: The Adventure of Link 100% Walkthrough "1/8" (No Commentary)
18:36
Game: Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (No Commentary) Publisher: Nintendo Developer: Nintendo EAD Original System: NES (1987) System I'm playing on: GameCube (LOZ: Collector's Edition) (2003) Completion: 100% (No Deaths, All Heart Containers, All Magic Containers, and All Level Upgrades) Number of Videos: 8 (Complete) Favorite Dungeon: Parapa Palace Least Favorite Dungeon: Great Palace Favorite Boss: Horsehead (I hate them all lol) Least Favorite Boss: Thunderbird Note: There are a few things you need to know about this walkthrough. 1. I do not like this game, but it's a Zelda timeline game so I'm going to play it anyway. 2. As this is an old game, my current Capture Card wont record it, so I had to resort to my old one. That being said, the walkthrough may look a bit fuzzy/blurry and will have a few graphical and audio errors. 3. Since the GameCube is the only system I own a copy of this game on, I had to use my old crappy turbo controller which the B button sticks on. On occasion you may see me attack constantly even though the enemy I was fighting was defeated a while ago (especially true with Bubbles), ignore this and don't laugh at me lol. 4. Since I dont own a 2nd Controller I was unable to save the game and had to record the entire thing in one sitting. So occasionally I took a break somewhere and edited that break out, you'll likely notice the cuts, as I also left the dungeon to heal or restore my magic at these times too in order to prevent death. In this part, we get our first Heart Container, visit the town of Rauru, get the Shield Spell, enter the 1st Dungeon: Parapa Palace, get the Candle, and defeat the Boss: Horsehead. Collectibles: 4 1. Shield Spell - 3:22 2. Heart Container #1 of 4 - 5:46 3. Small Key x3 - 8:18, 10:07, 10:33 4. Candle - 14:39 Towns: Every town has a lady in red who will fully heal you if you speak with her and enter her house. In future towns, you'll find an old lady with a similar ability but she restores your Magic. Every town also contains a Wise Man who will teach you a Spell, some of which require you to bring an item however. Enemy Encounters: Enemies will not appear if you stay on the road, but will appear elsewhere and likely right in your face. You can choose to fight them, or just head to the next screen to exit the battle. If you enter a fight on a road, there will be no enemies. The Level System: At the top right of the screen is the Level System. You get experience points for defeating most of the enemies in the game or by collecting Point Bags. Once you hit the required amount of EXP, you will be prompted to upgrade either your Sword, Magic, or Life (you can also choose to upgrade nothing if you'd like to save up for a more "expensive" upgrade). Upgrading your Sword will increase the damage you do to enemies, upgrading your Magic will reduce the amount of magic consumed when casting a Spell, and upgrading your Life will reduce the damage you take from enemies. Every time you upgrade a stat, it will cost more EXP to upgrade it again. There are certain enemies in the game who can drain your EXP by hitting you, so do your best to avoid taking damage. Lastly, if you lose all of your lives and get a Game Over, you will lose all of the EXP you were storing up and will have to start from zero (your purchased upgrades will be safe). Shield Spell: The Shield Spell allows you to take less damage when cast. You will appear to have a red tunic on when it is in use and it only works while on the same screen. Candle: The Candle is the 1st Dungeon item, and has the ability to automatically light up the dark caves found throughout the game. HORSEHEAD - 17:43 Horsehead is the Boss of the first dungeon. He has a straightforward mace attack and thats it. The best way to defeat him is to jump attack his head, then back off for a moment to avoid his mace, and repeat.
